Orilla

I think it was Paul Valery who wrote that the sea shore is this line where you can find what the sea doesn't want and what the earth doesn't dare to accept.
(I don't know if dare is the right word, and I can't find the quote in french, sorry)
(I'm trying to come back but school is eating all my energy)

Ñandutí

(Guaraní Indian: “spider web”), type of lace introduced into Paraguay by the Spaniards. It is generally characterized by a spoke-like structure of foundation threads upon which many basic patterns are embroidered. This structure, resembling a spider web or the rays of the Sun, is usually made on a small circular cushion.

Of course I had in mind the drawings of the selvedge magazine you gave me.

Moras, Madalenas... Merienda!

The muffins are ok, but the dish and the background... puaj!

I like this early stage of the blackberries drawing

Close to my place there are so many blackberries, every year in september I celebrate with family and friends the blackberries day. We prepare food (tortilla de patatas) and spend the whole day in the forest picking and eating moras. Later I spend a day cooking marmalade for the winter or baking pies. Delicious!

LLuvia

I kind of copied the "rain" lines of the first drawing from Juan Navarro Baldeweg. When I saw them I liked them so much I decided to draw LLuvia for the "LL", but his picture is so beautiful I got stucked on the subject for days... So I'm quite happy I could do something today.

Lanas y Labores

I started with a nice line drawing which I completely spoiled with watercolor. The good thing is I took a picture before starting with the coloring so now I can print it and see how it looked like. I'm also considering coloring the line drawing in the computer... I'll show you if something nice comes out of it.
Labor (plural labores) is a pillow I'm crocheting for my mother, it's on the top right corner of the drawing. In spanish you call labor anything that's done with the hand: sewing, crocheting, embroidery... but also the work the farmers do with the soil to prepare it for the seeding. In a way I like the association between wool, and earth.

Joyas

This are all my jewels:
1. Was made by Sara in a summer camp. It's salt dough with a little shell embedded
2. I bought it in London a very long time ago. I always liked it.
3. Sara did it. It is a jacaranda seed and some little seeds from a tree she wont tell.
4. My aunt gave it to me as a trip present. I don't remember where does it come from.
5. Some uneven earrings from when I used to wear earrings.
6. I made to disguise as Siouxie and the Banshes
7. My art galleries ring. It's very ugly and very uncomfortable, I wear it when I go to my gallery to remember that I'm just doing business. It's very useful to me.
8. Sara lent them to me cause she thinks they look pretty on me (or I look pretty on them, I don't remember)
